Goyen CA25T Replacement: Specs & Equivalent Valve

TL;DR

  • The CA-25T is a 1 inch (DN25) threaded pulse-jet diaphragm valve with a 25 mm orifice, a 90 degree outlet, a working pressure of 0.3 to 0.8 MPa and a KV/CV flow figure of 20/23. A replacement is equivalent only if it matches those numbers.
  • There are three equivalent routes: the CA-25T with its integral pilot, the RCA-25T remote-pilot version convertible with an RCA3D2 pilot valve, and the 1 inch DMF-Z-25 or SCG353A044JT.
  • The cheapest equivalent is often not a valve at all but a CA-series diaphragm repair kit, because the diaphragm is the wearing part and carries the same 1.5-year warranty.
  • Expect US $5 to 10 per piece at a 100-piece minimum order and 10,000 pieces per month of supply, but check the diaphragm material first, because NBR runs to 120 degrees Celsius and Viton to 232.

What the CA25T is, and what "equivalent" actually means

A Goyen CA25T is a pulse-jet diaphragm valve for reverse-pulse baghouse cleaning, and an equivalent replacement matches its physical and pneumatic interface rather than its model number. It fires a short burst of compressed air into a filter bag or cartridge, drops the dust cake and lets clean air back through the media.

Because the naming is copied across manufacturers, the data plate tells you very little. What separates a genuine equivalent from a part that merely fits the hole is a short list: orifice, port size, outlet angle, working pressure band, flow coefficient, coil voltage, pilot arrangement and diaphragm material. Get those eight right and the valve drops into the same installation; get one wrong and you get a valve that leaks, will not open fully, or cooks its diaphragm.

Because the valve opens in milliseconds and dumps a full cylinder of compressed air each time, a small mismatch in orifice or pilot timing shows up as weak cleaning rather than an obvious fault, so match the numbers before the appearance.

The specifications a CA25T replacement has to match

Specification CA-25T and RCA-25T value Why it decides the swap
Orifice and port size 25 mm orifice, 1 inch (DN25) threaded Sets the pulse size and must match the tank tap
Outlet angle 90 degrees to the inlet Straight-through bodies differ
Working pressure 0.3 to 0.8 MPa Below 0.3 MPa it will not open
Working medium Clean air Dry and filtered
KV / CV 20 / 23 The flow comparison number
Diaphragm NBR or Viton 120 against 232 degrees Celsius
Coil voltage 24 V DC/AC, 110 V AC, 220 V AC The controller output decides
Body, metals and seals Die-cast aluminium, 304 SS ferrule and spring, 430FR armature, reinforced nitrile or Viton seals They carry the inlet load and the cycling duty

Orifice, port size and flow

The CA-25T combines a 25 mm orifice with a 1 inch port and a KV/CV of 20/23. The orifice is the working number, the port size the installation number and the KV/CV the comparison number. KV/CV tells you whether the blast energy stays the same, the port size whether the pipework does.

Pressure, medium and temperature

The working band is 0.3 to 0.8 MPa of clean air, and the diaphragm sets the temperature ceiling. Below roughly 0.3 MPa the compressed air cannot snap the diaphragm fully open, which shows up as weak cleaning. With NBR the diaphragm and seals run from -40 to 120 degrees Celsius, Viton from -29 to 232, so hot gas needs Viton.

Coil, pilot and diaphragm

The CA-25T carries the pilot and the coil on the body, while the RCA-25T takes a remote pilot signal. Coils come at 24 V DC or AC, 110 V AC and 220 V AC, and the pulse valve coil and pilot lines keep spares matching. On the diaphragm we select imported rubber, check every part before assembly, and blow every finished valve.

Three equivalent-valve routes

There are three routes to an equivalent CA-25T, differing in where the pilot sits and how the air path turns. The full CA pulse valve range we build covers all of them.

Route Configuration Best fit Watch out for
CA-25T Integral pilot, 90 degree outlet Swap on a manifold with no pilot pipework Coil and pilot change as one unit
RCA-25T Remote pilot, 90 degree outlet Pilot mounted away from the tank Needs a pilot port and pilot valve
DMF-Z-25 and SCG353A044JT Other 1 inch families Standardising spares across baghouses Own kits and a different body angle

Route one: the CA-25T with integral pilot

The CA-25T is the direct answer when the valve you are removing has the pilot and coil bolted on the body. The CA-25T integral pilot 1 inch diaphragm valve is supplied with a DC24V or AC220V coil, a 0.3 to 0.8 MPa working band and a 90 degree outlet, the geometry most Goyen-type installations use.

Route two: the RCA-25T remote pilot version

The RCA-25T is the right answer when the pilot has to live away from the tank, common where heat, vibration or access makes an integral pilot awkward. The RCA-25T threaded 1 inch remote pilot valve can also be converted to integral pilot with an RCA3D2 pilot valve, which helps a site keep one spare part instead of two.

Route three: the other 1 inch families

DMF-Z-25 and SCG353A044JT are the other 1 inch formats most often considered alongside the CA-25T. The DMF-Z-25 1 inch valve carries its own diaphragm kit and porting, while the SCG353A044JT 1 inch straight type valve is a 180 degree straight-through body rated to one million diaphragm cycles. Because a straight-through body blows into the bag from the opposite side, it is not a drop-in for a 90 degree CA-25T, so treat it as a pipework change.

Where the CA-25T sits in the CA series

The CA-25T is the second size in the CA ladder and the only 1 inch member of it, sized by filter bag diameter and cleaning pressure. This is the reference we quote from the CA series datasheet.

Type Orifice Port size Diaphragms KV / CV
CA/RCA20T 20 3/4 inch 1 12 / 14
CA/RCA25T 25 1 inch 1 20 / 23
CA/RCA35T 35 1 1/4 inch 2 36 / 42
CA/RCA45T 45 1 1/2 inch 2 44 / 51
CA/RCA50T 50 2 inch 2 91 / 106
CA/RCA62T 62 2 1/2 inch 2 117 / 136
CA/RCA76T 76 3 inch 2 144 / 167

Diaphragm kit or whole valve: when repair wins

Most failed pulse valves are failed diaphragms, and the diaphragm is a wear item rather than a failure of the valve. A valve that is slow to open, that leaks at the inlet when de-energised, or that has stopped holding pressure has usually lost its diaphragm or pilot seat, both replaceable parts rather than a reason to scrap the body.

The CA series diaphragm repair kits cover the CA and RCA pattern, and we recommend inspecting the diaphragm and pilot annually. A kit costs a fraction of a valve and turns an unplanned shutdown into a scheduled job.

Because the diaphragm sees the pressure swing on every pulse, a kit swap is the cheapest fix when the body, ferrule and armature are still sound, and it is the wrong answer when the body is cracked or the armature is pitted.

Installation faults that make a good replacement look failed

Most reported replacement failures are installation faults, not product faults, and the published installation sequence is short enough to follow exactly.

  1. Prepare the supply and blow tube pipes to suit the valve specification, and avoid installing valves under the tank.
  2. Make sure the tank and pipes are free of dirt, rust and particulate, and that the air source is clean and dry.
  3. Keep thread sealant out of the valve and the bore clear, because a slug of sealant in the inlet holds the valve partly open.
  4. Connect the solenoid to the controller, or the RCA pilot port to a pilot valve.
  5. Apply moderate pressure, check for leaks, then fully pressurise the system.

One more point that gets missed. The diaphragm valve is not a structural component, so never rely on it to hold the tank or the pipework.

What the dust collector expects from the valve

The valve is one part of a cleaning system that a regulator or an insurer will look at as a whole. Combustible dust handling is the reason most plants care, and OSHA's combustible dust resources set out the housekeeping and collection expectations a baghouse must meet. The particulate matter limits in 40 CFR Part 50 are why capture efficiency and media grade end up in the permit, and ASTM F2108-17 is the test method many buyers specify for PM2.5 media, so the valve must deliver the qualified pulse.

Two framework references matter for the replacement itself. Dust collection in an explosive atmosphere in Europe falls under ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, so the coil and any pilot must match the zone classification. And NFPA 652 guides the combustible dust hazard assessment, which decides whether a collector needs a vent or an isolation valve.

Because the pulse valve moves air inside the collector, its failure takes out the cleaning cycle rather than the filtration, so it belongs on the preventive maintenance list with the same seriousness as the filter media.

How to specify a CA25T replacement

Send eight numbers, not a model number, and a competent supplier will quote the equivalent without a site visit.

  1. Orifice, port size and flow coefficient, measured from the valve being removed.
  2. Outlet angle, so the pipework does not have to be redrawn.
  3. Working pressure band and medium, which is clean air on every collector.
  4. Coil voltage and whether the pilot is integral, remote or convertible.
  5. Diaphragm material, chosen against the real inlet temperature.
  6. Connector type, enclosure rating, quantity, delivery port and payment terms.

Commercial reference points from our own CA-25T line: US $5 to 10 per piece FOB at a 100-piece minimum order, 10,000 pieces per month of supply, loading 7 to 10 days after payment, shipping from Ningbo or Shanghai, payment by L/C, D/A, D/P or T/T, and a 1.5-year warranty on valves and kits.

Where our own production sits

Green Power Co., Ltd was founded in 2005 and makes pulse valves, bulkhead connectors, diaphragm repair kits, pilots, coils and timers rather than reselling them. The factory in Pukou Industrial Zone, Shengzhou, Zhejiang adjoins the Beilun deep-water harbour, two hours by road from Shanghai, which is how we quote 7 to 10 day loading on stocked items. The company profile and the certification page set out the ISO quality management behind it, and every finished valve is blown before it ships.

When to replace, when to repair, and when to change series

Replace the valve when the body is damaged, the pilot will not seat, or the spec on the data plate is wrong for the duty. Repair it with a diaphragm kit when the body and armature are sound, because that is the commonest and cheapest outcome.

Change series only when the original size was an error. Moving from a CA-20T to a CA-25T raises the pulse and the bag wear, while a CA-35T or CA-45T adds a second diaphragm and a different cost per bag. Because the size is chosen for the bag and the cleaning pressure, changing series to fix a cleaning complaint usually raises the energy cost instead of solving it, so verify the pressure at the tank and the bag diameter before you resize.

We would not recommend a CA-25T replacement where the duty is a continuous process flow rather than a pulse cleaning cycle, where the medium is not clean air, or where the installation cannot meet 0.3 MPa minimum inlet pressure.

What are the specs of a Goyen CA25T pulse valve?

The CA-25T is a threaded diaphragm pulse valve with a 25 mm orifice, a 1 inch (DN25) port, a 90 degree outlet, a working pressure band of 0.3 to 0.8 MPa and clean air as the working medium, with a flow coefficient of KV/CV 20/23. The body is die-cast aluminium, with a 304 stainless ferrule and spring, 430FR armature and reinforced nitrile or Viton seals, and coils at 24 V DC/AC, 110 V AC or 220 V AC.

What is the equivalent valve for a CA25T?

There are three answers. The CA-25T itself, with the pilot and coil on the body, is the direct swap for an integral-pilot installation. The RCA-25T is the remote-pilot equivalent with the same 25 mm orifice and 1 inch port, convertible to integral pilot with an RCA3D2 pilot valve. The DMF-Z-25 and SCG353A044JT match on flow class but not geometry, and each family uses its own diaphragm kit.

Can I replace a CA25T with an RCA25T on the same installation?

Yes, if the installation already has a pilot valve and a piped pilot port, because the RCA-25T shares the 25 mm orifice, the 1 inch port and the 90 degree outlet of the CA-25T. Without pilot pipework, run the integral-pilot CA-25T, or fit an RCA3D2 pilot valve to convert the RCA unit, and check the coil voltage against the controller output.

How long does a CA25T diaphragm last?

That depends on the duty far more than on the valve, because the diaphragm sees the full pressure swing on every pulse. For reference, the published diaphragm life of the 1 inch straight type family is one million cycles. We recommend inspecting the diaphragm and pilot annually and keeping a kit on the shelf.

What is the working pressure range and what happens outside it?

The published working pressure band is 0.3 to 0.8 MPa for clean air. Below 0.3 MPa the compressed air cannot snap the diaphragm fully open, so cleaning gets weak and the valve works harder than it should; above 0.8 MPa you are outside the band. Diaphragm material sets the temperature ceiling, with NBR to 120 degrees Celsius and Viton to 232.

What is the price and lead time for a CA25T replacement valve?

On our CA-25T line the FOB price is US $5 to 10 per piece with a 100-piece minimum order, monthly supply of 10,000 pieces, loading 7 to 10 days after payment, and shipment from Ningbo or Shanghai with payment by L/C, D/A, D/P or T/T. Every valve carries a 1.5-year warranty and a defective unit is replaced without extra charge including shipping. To restore one valve, a diaphragm kit is faster and cheaper.
